The Marlboro Township Police Department has created an Emergency Response Team that is tasked with responding to and resolving specialized critical incidents that may arise within the Township. This highly skilled and highly trained team will be utilized to substantially reduce the risk of injury, or loss of life to citizens, police officers, and suspects. The Marlboro Township Emergency Response Team is made up of 11 members representing various levels of the Police Department and headed by Lt. Nick Syzmanski. The Team actively trains twice a month to insure that they are prepared to respond at a moments notice and adequately resolve critical incidents. Such incidents would include, but are not limited to:

  • Hostage situations
  • Barricade situations
  • Active shooters
  • High-risk apprehensions
  • Dignitary protection
  • High-risk warrant service
  • Special assignments.
