Right to carry instructions in short

Retired officers have the right to obtain a permit to carry anytime after they retire, there is no longer a time limit for registration. Simply file the SP-232 and the S.P. 66.  A $50 application fee (Check or Money Order) to the Superintendent of State Police and a $10 Flag fee (Check or Money Order) to the Division of State Police-SBI. Three (3) passport style photos in color, light background and 2" by 2" with your name and SS # on the back.  Do not submit an initial application prior to two (2) months before the anticipated date of retirement.  Qualify twice (2) a year at least three (3) months apart and renew your application once (1) a year.  Note: no hollow points allowed for carry by The Retired Officers Right to Carry Act.
